External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar calls the UN outdated and ineffective, citing its failures in managing global crises like Covid-19 and conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia. He highlights new international groups like the Quad and International Solar Alliance as more effective alternatives.

Jaishankar said that although the UN continues to exist, it is no longer the sole avenue for countries to collaborate on global problems.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended the Kautilya Economic Conclave on October 06, While addressing the event, EAM took a dig at the United Nations.

Jaishankar explained that while countries would prefer the UN to lead global initiatives when it fails to address key issues, they are left to create their own mechanisms.
