Looking at Pittsburgh’s possibilities for the salary cap and opening night roster and why some paper moves to the AHL might happen tomorrow

The Pittsburgh Penguins placed defenseman Sebastian Aho and forward Boko Imama on waivers Sunday according to Puckpedia. Should they go unclaimed by 2 p.m. Monday, the Penguins can assign them to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

The Pittsburgh Penguins trimmed their roster by two Sunday, waiving defenseman Sebastian Aho and minor league tough guy Boko Imama. Imama wasn’t expected to make the NHL roster, but Aho was in full competition for an NHL spot on the Penguins blue line.
