Indian food delivery and e-commerce platform Swiggy has launched Bolt, a 10-minute food delivery service. The new offering targets customers seeking quick-to-prepare meals from quick-service restaurants within a 2km radius.

This move by Swiggy intensifies competition with other players like Zomato's Blinkit, Instamart (Swiggy's own quick-commerce platform), StepStone-backed Zepto, and Tata-owned BigBasket. These companies are transforming shopping habits by catering to consumers' growing demand for instant gratification across a wide range of products.

The initial rollout of Bolt will take place in key urban centers, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Pune.

Bolt will feature food from major brands like KFC, McDonald's, Burger King, Baskin Robbins, Starbucks, Chaayos, and EatFit.

Swiggy's Bolt service will enable users to order food from fast food chains and other restaurants that requires minimal preparation time.

IPO-bound Swiggy said the Bolt feature is currently operational across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune.

Designed to cater to the growing demand for faster food deliveries, Bolt will offer a selection of popular dishes such as burgers, beverages, breakfast items, and biryani that require minimal preparation time.
