The first Diablo 4 expansion is finally here, adding a new region, a new character class, side quests, missions and story content.

In a post on the Blizzard forums announcing the delay, Diablo community manager Adam Fletcher stated a "small technical issue" was to blame, one that needed to be resolved in order for players to start at the same time across all platforms. Blizzard is hoping to have the Diablo 4 servers back up and running this evening, Fletcher said.

Diablo 4 encounters some last-minute issues that lead to a delay in the simultaneous global launch of Vessel of Hatred, its first expansion pack.

Diablo 4’s VoH launch delay had players so frustrated they started calling it the “Vessel of Waitred” thanks to all the tech issues and bugs.

Even as someone who has followed every major update to Diablo 4 over the last year, the release of Vessel of Hatred feels like the launch of a whole new action RPG. The bulk of the new expansion is like upgrading to a new phone: all the familiar stuff is still there but it's faster and easier to use.

Vessel of Hatred is ready to launch this morning, and with it, the new Spiritborn class. I got to play the expansion early for review (8.5/10 was my verdict) and as such, I have a few dozen extra hours in so far compared to those playing at launch.

Only four hours out from the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred expansions launch, Blizzard announced a delay for an undetermined amount of time.

Diablo 4 is celebrating the launch of Vessel of Hatred with four weeks of Twitch drops and rewards for purchasing/gifting subscriptions. Week one's Twitch
