Hurricane Milton is headed for the west coast of Florida, and right now, it's not clear where it will hit ― but several evacuations in Southwest Florida have already been announced. The city of Marco Island has issued a voluntary evacuation notice in advance of Hurricane Milton, the first in Collier County.

Collier County management gathered in the Emergency Operations Center on Oct. 9, monitoring approaching Hurricane Milton and warning the public about confirmed tornados.

Hurricane hunters from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association had a bumpy ride as they flew through Hurricane Milton to gather data before the storm makes landfall.
